Dasic Marine Supplies Air-Driven Gas Freeing Fans to Stena Chemical Tankers, Halving Cargo Tank Drying Time

Southampton, UK – September 18, 2025

Dasic Marine, a leading provider of innovative marine solutions, is proud to announce the successful supply of Jetfan 65 Air-Driven Portable Gas Freeing Fans to 13 Stena chemical tankers, addressing a critical operational challenge in the industry. This achievement underscores Dasic Marine’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge equipment that enhances efficiency and safety for maritime operations.

Chemical tankers often face delays of up to 24 hours for cargo tanks to dry after cleaning, impacting operational schedules and efficiency. Recognizing this issue, Dasic Marine’s Sales Manager, Ian Rippon, drew on his extensive experience as a former Chemical Tanker Superintendent to recommend the Jetfan 65 solution. The air-driven gas freeing fans, paired with high-quality hoses and flexible ducting, have proven to reduce cargo tank drying time by half, enabling faster turnaround times for Stena’s fleet.

The supply project, detailed in a comprehensive scope document, includes the delivery of Jetfan 65 Air-Driven Portable Gas Freeing Fans, 1″ x 25m black air hoses with stainless steel female Camlock fittings, and 300mm x 15m flexible ducting to vessels including Immortal, Impulse, Image, Impero, Imperial, Imprimis, Important, Imagination, Immaculate, Impeccable, Imperative, Impression, and a second allocation for Impero. Deliveries are scheduled to meet the vessels’ operational timelines across key regions such as the Arabian Gulf, Houston, the Mediterranean, Huelva (Spain), Al Jubail, the Indian West Coast, Northwest Europe, and Rotterdam, with lead times ranging from late January to early April 2025.

“Ian’s firsthand experience in the chemical tanker industry was instrumental in identifying and deploying this solution,” said a Dasic Marine spokesperson. “By equipping Stena’s fleet with our Jetfan 65 systems, we’ve helped optimize their operations, saving valuable time and ensuring compliance with stringent safety standards”.

The Jetfan 65 gas freeing fans are designed for durability and ease of use, featuring a 0.75″ Camlock Male to 0.75″ BSP Male stainless-steel connector for seamless integration. The accompanying hoses and ducting are engineered to withstand the demanding conditions of marine environments, ensuring reliable performance during gas-freeing operations.

This collaboration highlights Dasic Marine’s ability to provide tailored solutions that address real-world challenges in the maritime industry.
